Greg Jennings kicked off his 2014 with a score. We break down the fantasy implications.
Perhaps no receiver picked up more hype in the offseason than Vikings wideout Cordarrelle Patterson, and that hype led to Greg Jennings acting as a forgotten man in Minnesota. That all changed on Sunday in Week 1 against the St. Louis Rams when Jennings caught six balls for 58 yards and one touchdown on his seven targets. His targets were a team high and he was running a variety of routes in offensive coordinator Norv Turner's new offensive system.
Jennings had an underwhelming 2013 during his first season with the Vikings, totaling 68 catches, 804 yards and four scores in 15 games. He was routinely a top-10 wideout in fantasy with the Packers, but obviously a lesser quarterback and a run-heavy scheme led to the drop-off.
While Sunday was a bit of a best-case scenario, it's probably safe to assume he'll be able to top his 2013 numbers. He's not a no-brainer add due to a relatively low upside, so feel free to give him a look in 12-team leagues.
