Aston Villa have sold Karim El-Ahmadi back to Feyenoord, with the Morocco international joining on a three-year deal.
Aston Villa have completed the sale of Karim El-Ahmadi to Feyenoord on a three-year deal, the club have announced on their website.
The Moroccan midfielder was signed from the Dutch club two years ago and made 51 appearances for Villa, but has now moved back to the club he joined from in 2012.
El-Ahmadi started 43 games for Villa and scored three goals for the club in his time, but has now seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements at Villa Park, who have had a fairly tumultuous transfer window owing to the owner, Randy Lerner, attempting to sell the club. El-Ahmadi is the fifth departure from the club this summer, along with Marc Albrighton, Samir Carruthers, Jordan Bowery and Nethan Delfouneso, with an additional four players leaving on season-long loans.
El-Ahmadi has 20 caps for Morocco, but was born and raised in the Netherlands where he played for Feyenoord and FC Twente.
