The Dolphins rode Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno to a win over the Patriots on Sunday, and they plan on keeping the backfield rotation for now. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Miami Dolphins pledged to use Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno in a running back committee this season. They stuck with that plan in Week 1, with both players playing a role in Miami's upset win over the New England Patriots.

Miller got the start and played most of the first half, but he found his way on the bench after a fumble. It was the Moreno show after that -- Moreno piled up 134 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Miller finished with 11 carries for 59 yards, adding 19 receiving yards and a touchdown on four catches.

Moreno ended up playing 48 snaps to Miller's 27. Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor indicated that he'll keep using a hot-hand approach, via the Miami Herald:

"I expect them both to contribute. There might be days (where) sometimes they may rotate by series and sometimes they may rotate by play if there are particular things they want."

Fantasy impact: Moreno looked like the better player on the field and should continue seeing the majority of snaps, but the Dolphins still value Miller's role. Committee backfields are a fantasy headache, but it seems we finally have some clarity about the situation in Miami. Moreno is probably the safer play against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, with Miller being more of a risky flex option.
