How will Eli Manning and the new-look Giants offense fare against the Lions' stout defensive line. Also, will there even be a Chargers vs. Cardinals game?
As has been the case for several years running, the NFL closes its first week of play with a Monday night double header: New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions, then San Diego Chargers vs. Arizona Cardinals.
The first game features a New York team with a revamped offensive system and a rebuilt offensive line taking on a talented but underutilized Detroit roster with new headman Jim Caldwell at the controls.
The second game features two teams that were on the ragged edge of the playoff picture a year ago. Arizona finished with a 10-6 record, but failed to quality for the postseason due to the presence of the Seahawks and 49ers in their division. San Diego meanwhile snuck into the playoffs with an 8-8 record and hope to compete for the division this year.
