Boston College's holder forgot which foot his kicker used on crucial FG miss vs. Florida State

Nerves were running high for Boston College in their near upset of Florida State.

Boston College-Florida State was tied 17-17, and the Eagles had the opportunity to take the 20-17 lead on a 42-yard field goal attempt by Alex Howell. But before he could take the field goal, there was some confusion between Howell and quarterback/holder Tyler Murphy:

The confusion is understandable: Mike Knoll, who had kicked a 40-yard field goal for the Eagles earlier in the game, is a lefty, and Alex Howell, who missed this one, is a righty. Knoll's 40-yarder earlier in the game had been his career long, whereas Howell had hit several 40-yarders and a 52-yarder.

The confusion had nothing to do with Howell's miss, but it's clear nerves were afoot. The hold was fine, the kick was off, and Florida State took the ball to the other end of the field and drilled a field goal to give them a 20-17 win. Another close call, another close win for the Seminoles.
