Murray started to take over for Oakland, but an injury cut his night short in Oakland. We break down the fantasy implications.
Latavius Murray looked like he was ready to steal the show on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs before he left the game early with an injury. The rookie running back rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on four carries, but he was forced out with a concussion in the second quarter.
The Oakland Raiders have been hinting toward an expanded workload for Murray, and they appeared ready to give him a fair share of the carries in Week 12. Murray's injury cost him what could have been a ridiculous night.
Fantasy impact: Murray's 90-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was quite a highlight as he cut back, bounced outside and took off upfield, easily beating the Chiefs defense in footrace to the end zone. His blend of size and speed makes us wonder why the Raiders waited so long to get him more involved.
Fortunately for fantasy owners, Murray has 10 days to prepare for his next game. He should be added in the majority of leagues if you're in need of running back help, which plenty of owners are at this point. Murray will get a great matchup with the Rams in Week 13 if he passes the concussion protocol.
