Golden Tate injury update: Lions WR probable; has fantasy value against Patriots

Golden Tate is probable with a hip injury for Sunday's game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Tate has a hip issue and was a late addition to the injury report after being limited on Friday. It's unclear what the exact nature of his injury is or if it's been bothering him for awhile, but the probable designation seems to indicate he should be in action against New England.

Tate leads the Lions with 68 receptions for 950 yards and three touchdowns. He's in the middle of his most-productive season to date. His numbers should continue to rise with Calvin Johnson back in the lineup since Megatron will draw the premium coverage as the team's top receiver.

Fantasy Impact: At this point, Tate is going to play. Fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned with the injury thanks to the probable designation. The Patriots have a decent pass defense, but there's plenty of room for Tate to put up good numbers. New England allows 241.9 passing yards per game on average, and Tate could be in line for a decent game.
