It's Swaggy P's world and we're all just living in it.
The Lakers started this season 1-9, but that record comes with one big, swagged out asterisk: Nick Young was sidelined with a thumb injury. Young returned on Tuesday as the Lakers outlasted the Hawks in Atlanta, and on Wednesday night Los Angeles did it again.
Behind 29 points from Kobe Bryant and 16 points off the bench from Nick Young, the Lakers defeated the Rockets 98-92. Dwight Howard was out for Houston with a knee injury, but no matter. The Lakers are undefeated with Swaggy P in the lineup. You cannot dispute this.
Young said 'my swag rubbed off on everyone' after the win over the Hawks, and it looks like that swag was strong enough to carry the Lakers for at least two nights.
The Lakers' much maligned front court did a nice job against the Dwight-less Rockets, winning the rebounding battle 47-38. The consistently awful LA defense also held Houston to just 40.5 percent shooting from the field.
As much fun is it is to credit Nick Young's swag for the Lakers' two-game winning streak, he didn't do it alone. Wesley Johnson's and-one layup with 43 seconds left gave LA a lead they would never relinquish.
Bryant shot 10-of-28 from the floor to get those 29 points but added seven assists and five rebounds. This is not the time to worry about Kobe's efficiency. This is the time to bask in the Lakers' newfound swag and wonder how far it can take them.
The Lakers are undefeated with Nick Young, and there's nothing anyone can do with it. Soak it in, Lakers bros.
