Cowboys vs. Giants: Betting odds, preview, prediction for 'Sunday Night Football'

Dallas returns from its bye to face the slumping New York Giants.

The New York Giants are mired in an 0-5 SU and ATS slump over their last five games. New York will be the betting underdog for its sixth straight game this Sunday night hosting the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys.

New York is a 3-point home underdog on Sunday, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Dallas' recent success against New York and coming off a bye coupled with the Giants' futility of late make the Cowboys look like a strong play at minus-3 on the road.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Dallas 28.4, New York 17.7

Over their last five games, the New York Giants simply have not been able to put a complete game together. The Giants defense had given up 34 points per game over their previous four games heading into Sunday against San Francisco, but against the 49ers the defense played very well. The effort was in vain, however, as Eli Manning threw five interceptions in the 16-10 loss. New York is 0-3 SU and ATS in its last three games against Dallas.

The Giants host the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night.

After going on a 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS tear that included wins against New Orleans and on the road against Seattle, Dallas was building up hype as one of the teams to beat in the NFC. A Tony Romo injury and two straight losses quelled some of that hype, but with a double-digit win over Jacksonville in London, the Cowboys entered their bye week with a 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS record. Dallas is 6-2 SU and 8-0 ATS in its last eight road games coming off a bye week.

Sunday night's total is set at 47.5 points. The OVER is 9-2 over the last 11 meetings between these two teams, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, 3-1 in Dallas' last four games as a road favorite and 6-2 in New York's last eight games as a home underdog

New York obviously doesn't want to be embarrassed in prime time by a hated rival, so the Giants should come out swinging. But a healthy Dallas Cowboys squad going off at only minus-3 should be too much for the G-men to handle.
