Alvaro Negredo is close to completing a move to Valencia, according to reports in the English and Spanish press.
Alvaro Negredo will indeed leave Manchester City, and the destination looks likely to be Valencia, according to widespread reports.
The Daily Mirror and the Daily Mail in England both report that Manchester City are confident of tying up the deal for the Spain international to leave before the 11pm deadline. The move was initially touted as one to free up funds for a move for Radamel Falcao, although the Colombian striker now seems all but certain to join City's rivals Manchester United.
That was suggested as a potential hitch to the striker leaving the Etihad Stadium. Yet nonetheless, Negredo still looks like he'll be off after having just one season in England, where he started very strongly but then endured a lengthy goal drought. The deal will be a loan-to-buy, with the figure suggested to be around £20m for completing a permanent move - which some sources have described as an 'obligation' to buy rather than an option.
