Andre Ellington is in a last-minute scramble to get cleared in time for Monday night's game. We break down the fantasy implications.
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington is still a major question mark for Monday night's game against the San Diego Chargers. Beat writer MIke Jurecki says that the Cardinals are working out Ellington hours before kickoff, with a "heavy tape job" on his left foot. His final status likely won't be determined until just before kickoff.
Ellington suffered a foot injury in practice last week and was listed as questionable for the game. Initial reports suggested that he could miss four to six weeks, but he managed to get a limited practice in on Saturday. He remains a game-time decision.
Fantasy impact: The Chargers and Cardinals play the last game of Week 1, not kicking off until 10:20 p.m. ET. If you still have Ellington in your lineup, it's gut check time, and you hopefully picked up Jonathan Dwyer by now. Even if he's active, Ellington will probably be on a heavy snap limit and isn't an appealing RB2 play at far less than 100 percent.
