Johnson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. We break down the fantasy implications.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury and has him listed as a game-time decision. That said, Johnson did practice all three days this week, albeit in limited fashion. The ankle injury has been an issue for a while now, as it forced him out of two games and forced him to have a very limited role in two others.
In the latter two games, Johnson caught just three passes for 19 yards with no scores. He has just 22 receptions for 348 yards and two touchdowns on the season. The majority of those yards came in the first three games of the season, including 164 yards in Week 1, 83 yards in Week 2 and 82 yards in Week 3. In other words, this ankle injury has severely limited him to this point.
Fantasy Impact: At this point, it's clear that Johnson was used as a decoy in the last two games he's played, and it's also clear that he suffered a setback with his injury for coming back so quickly. It was surprising when Johnson made the trip with the team and it's surprising that he practiced for three consecutive days. But there's still a big chance that Johnson doesn't play on Sunday, especially given that the Lions have a bye week up next. Fantasy owners will need to wake up bright and early to check the inactives report before they make a decision.
