The Giants took another first-inning lead Saturday night, but the Royals have rallied to take the lead in the third inning.

The San Francisco Giants took a first-inning lead before the speed of the Kansas City Royals helped them rally to take the lead Saturday night.

With the Giants up 1-0 in the third inning, Alcides Escobar hit a one-out single before Alex Gordon grounded into a fielder's choice and stole second base. Lorenzo Cain then hit a ground ball to Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford and reached base safely on an infield single, stretching to just beat out the throw.

Cain came up limping after the play, but remained in the game, though his status is worth keeping an eye on. Eric Hosmer then beat out an infield grounder to Brandon Belt, taking advantage of the first baseman's hesitation to reach base safely as Escobar game in to score the tying run.

At this point, Vogelsong's outing unraveled, with the right-hander walking Mike Moustakas before back-to-back singles from Omar Infante and Salvador Perez gave Kansas City a three-run lead. Vogelsong left after just 2⅔ innings, surrendering seven hits and four runs.
