Alex Smith has been good this season, but he's not been much of a fantasy option.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has had a decent season thus far, with a high completion percentage, not very many yards and a solid touchdown to interception ratio. That's what's expected out of Smith at this point, and he's delivering well enough to have the Chiefs winning and tied for the lead in the AFC West.
Smith has completed 193 of 291 passes for 1,977 yards (66.3 percent) with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. He hasn't thrown for 300 yards in any game this season, with his highest yardage total being the 255 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 2. Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11, Smith threw for just 108 yards, relying on Jamaal Charles to carry Kansas City to a win.
Fantasy Impact: The Chiefs could be looking at a surefire win on Thursday, as they're taking on the 0-10 Oakland Raiders. That said, about the only thing the Raiders do well is defend against the pass, as they rank 12th in the league in that vein. In other words, Smith isn't much of a viable fantasy option this week (or most weeks).
