Rivera was a bit of a letdown on Sunday. Will he turn it around on a short week for fantasy owners?
Oakland Raiders tight end Mychal Rivera has been busy for the Raiders with his snaps going up. He will take on a tough Kansas City Chiefs defense on Thursday night, but has he carried enough momentum to start in fantasy leagues?
Rivera has three touchdowns in his last three games as the primary red-zone threat. Although, he did not catch any TDs last week against the San Diego Chargers, the 24-year-old tight end has 6.0 catches per game in his last four and he's leading the team in receptions in that span.
The Chiefs are the 12th-toughest defense for fantasy tight ends and have allowed just one TD in the past three weeks. They also held Jets tight ends without a catch in Week 9 and have allowed two or less catches to tight ends in four of their last seven games.
Fantasy impact: If not for a short week, Rivera would be a nice play. However, there is a good chance the Raiders don't score any TDs on Thursday.
