The Borussia Dortmund attacker has no luck.
Marco Reus just can't stay on the pitch for Borussia Dortmund. Their star attacker has picked up yet another injury, though the severity of this one is to be determined. He was taken off on a stretcher in the second half of Dortmund's match against Paderborn Saturday.
The suspected injury is to Reus' lower right leg, and his ankle turned in a way they're not supposed to turn before he exited the pitch. He was replaced by Milos Jojic in the 67th minute, with BVB up, 2-1.
If there is any good news here, it's that this is not the same ankle that Reus has had perpetual issues with. He missed out on the World Cup with an injury to his left ankle, then hurt it again just after the start of the Bundesliga season and had to sit out a month. He's been great when fit, but he's already missed four Bundesliga matches and two Champions League games, while sitting out all of their DFB-Pokal contests.
Dortmund take on Arsenal in the Champions League midweek, and even if Reus' injury is not serious, it would be very surprising if he was able to start that game. Their next two Bundesliga matches are against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim, while their December 17 match against Wolfsburg should be massive in their chase to get back up into Champions League positions.
