Zou Shiming remained undefeated with a rough but lopsided decision victory over Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym.
Zou Shiming was the local boy in Macao for the HBO pay-per-view card headlined by Manny Pacquiao vs. Chris Algieri and he didn't disappoint fans, picking up a lopsided decision victory over Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym.
The fight looked like it would be a total walk for Shiming as he dropped OnesongchaiGym multiple times early in the fight but wasn't able to get his foe out with a stoppage. OnesongchaiGym would also lose a point due to repeated low blows, but that hardly mattered as it was clear he wouldn't be able to win on the cards.
Instead, OnesongchaiGym landed some good punches down the stretch that led to some swelling of Shiming's left eye. An accidental headbutt would open a cut over the same eye that bled into Shiming's eye but wasn't bad enough to force a stoppage.
Shiming fought through the damaged eye and still controlled the action, but he got hit more and more down the stretch, a bit of a dangerous sign of what could be to come for Shiming if he doesn't tighten up his game and focus more on defense than trying to be flashy.
Still Shiming dominated the fight and scored plenty of knockdowns (along with the OnesongchaiGym point deduction) to win by a huge margin on the scorecards.
The official cards read: 120-103, 119-106 and 119-106, all for Shiming.
