Here's the quickest way to lose a three-shot lead on a par-3.
Ian Poulter has cruised through almost all of Sunday at the Honda Classic with a multi-shot lead. And there he stood on the 6th tee of the final round with a three-shot margin at the Honda Classic. It would all come undone in a matter of seconds.
On a longer than average but still pretty basic par-3 for these pros, Poulter fired one of the worst hosel rockets you'll see out on the PGA Tour. The hole was playing around 217 yards, but Poulter's ball went about 155, slammed into a cart path, and bounded into a water hazard that's really not even a part of the hole.

On top of the embarrassing shank that even your weekend chop would blush about, Poulter's mishit was incredibly costly on the leaderboard. Patrick Reed, who is playing with Pouter in the final group of a delayed tournament that won't end until Monday, poured in a birdie to complete a three-shot swing and erase the lead.
To compound the shank, Poulter then overcooked one left into the water on the very next hole so now his co-lead is gone too.
