The Giants won't have first-round pick Odell Beckham Jr. in Monday's game against the Lions. We break down the fantasy implications.

New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) will not play against the Lions on Monday. He was ruled out on Saturday and hasn't practiced since Aug. 19 due to his hamstring strain.

This is an aggravation of the injury that he has dealt with for the vast majority of training camp. Beckham Jr. is expected to miss more time and could sit against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. The Giants invested a first-round pick on the LSU standout even though he had a hamstring issue even before he was drafted in the spring.

The Giants will want to run the ball more to help protect Eli Manning, who was sacked a career-high 39 times last season. Still, they'll be looking to Rueben Randle and Victor Cruz on the outside to get the ball moving through the air.

Fantasy impact: It's unclear when we'll see Beckham Jr. on the field, and chances are that all of his time missed in camp indicates that it is going to take a while for him to get on the same page with the rest of the offense. Randle makes sense as a solid WR3 and he'll offer a very high upside as the team's top red-zone threat. Cruz should also be in all lineups tonight.
