Everybody on the Detroit Lions is hurt ... at the tight end position. We break down the fantasy implications.
Detroit Lions tight ends Eric Ebron, Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria are all hurt. The Lions will take on the Atlanta Falcons in London on Sunday, and they'll be without at least two of the players named. Ebron injured his hamstring in practice and has already been ruled out for the game. Fauria has an ankle injury and has also been ruled out, while Pettigrew is listed as doubtful on the injury report.
None of the three have been particularly effective by any means this season, but all three do have potential for big games and it's a huge loss for the Lions to have each of them inactive. Ebron has just 103 yards and a touchdown on the season, while Pettigrew and Fauria combine for just over 100 yards. This essentially means the Lions tight ends for Sunday will be Jordan Thompson and Kellen Davis.
Fantasy Impact: Obviously at the moment, Ebron and Fauria don't have any fantasy value. Pettigrew doesn't have much either, as it's extremely unlikely he plays. Even if he does, he's not likely to see a full workload. Unfortunately, fantasy owners don't have any good options behind them, as neither Thompson nor Davis inspire a whole lot of confidence. All we can say is that you shouldn't start any of the top three.
