Torrey Smith had another productive outing last week. Can he keep in up in Week 8?
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith has found ways to produce in the last couple weeks despite limited targets. After a maddeningly slow start to the season, Smith has caught three touchdowns in the last two weeks and had 81 receiving yards last week, his highest single-game total of the season. While there is still room for improvement in that department, it's good to see him making some kind of a difference after catching only one touchdown in the first five games combined and never topping 53 yards receiving in that same span.
Fantasy Impact: While it's encouraging to to see Smith finally putting up some relevant numbers, owners shouldn't get ahead of themselves. The problem isn't with Smith, it's with his underwhelming lack of usage. With Steve Smith gobbling up a lot of the targets, Torrey is been more of an afterthought and situational deep threat. This narrative has changed in recent weeks, Smith has just done a better job making a lot out of a little. Baltimore will take on the Cincinnati Bengals whose secondary gives of the fifth fewest points to opposing receivers. Smith remains a boom-or-bust WR3.
