Despite riding a six-game losing streak, many like the Jets to take care of the Bills at home.
The New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at MetLife Stadium, and come into the game with increasing desperation. New York opened its season with a triumph over the Oakland Raiders, only to lose the next six games. With the playoffs appearing to be a pipe dream, the Jets are now playing to perhaps save Rex Ryan from getting the pink slip.
Meanwhile, the Bills come into the contest riding high after a last-second victory over the Minnesota Vikings. However, Buffalo sustained critical injuries, losing Fred Jackson to a groin ailment and C.J. Spiller to a broken collarbone. Jackson could return in a couple of weeks after the Bills' bye, while Spiller is at least out until Week 16 . Without the formidable duo, Buffalo will rely more on Kyle Orton and the passing attack to move the chains.
Despite being 1-6, the Jets are favored over the 4-3 Bills, and many experts agree with Vegas. Over at USA Today, all seven analysts picked New York to break its losing streak with a victory in front of the home faithful. Buffalo did earn some respect in the CBS Sports ranks, with the eight-man panel being split on this contest.
The experts at ESPN also favor the Jets to beat a competing Bills team, with eight of the 13 analysts siding with Geno Smith and the boys. Here at SB Nation, we like the underdog to get the job done. Five of our seven guys chose Buffalo to improve to 5-3, with only Danny Kelly and PFT Commenter going the other way.
