The Browns running back couldn't get much going last week. Is he worthy of starting consideration in Week 17?
Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell struggled to get much going last week against the Carolina Panthers. After losing significant carries to Terrance West the week before, Crowell once again saw lead-back work, only to finish with 55 yards on 16 carries. Even though Crowell appears to be on top of the depth chart right now, it rarely equates to a typical full workload. Throughout the entire season, Crowell has only received more than 15 carries in a game twice, and he's topped 60 yards rushing just three times. With eight scores on the year, Crowell has proven to be an inconsistent and touchdown-dependent fantasy asset.
Fantasy Impact: Things only get tougher for Crowell this week when the Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens. Their defense gives up the least fantasy points to opposing running backs. With the uncertainty regarding his carries, the inconsistency of the quarterback situation and the toughest match up possible, Crowell is no more than a desperation flex play.
