The Raiders running back has shown some nice play-making ability. Is he worth the start in Week 17?
Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray has been an effective play-maker in the limited work he's been given this season. Coming into Week 17, Murray has rushed 72 times for 387 yards (5.4 YPC) and two touchdowns. It's anyone's guess why it took the Raiders until Week 12 to realize that Murray is not only the future of their rushing attack but also gives them a better chance at winning this season than Darren McFadden or Maurice Jones-Drew ever could. Regardless, Murray is now top dog and is coming off a solid 23/86 line against a stingy Buffalo Bills defense.
Fantasy Impact: Murray has another tough test ahead of him in the Denver Broncos. Their defense allows the ninth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. If the Raiders are to successfully play the spoiler role and prevent the Broncos from locking up the No. 2 seed, it will have to involve Murray. He remains an RB2 with plenty of upside.
