The 49ers will likely lean on Frank Gore a lot this week. Should fantasy owners use him again?
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is probably going to get his last carry as a 49er on Sunday. His contract is up and the team seems fully prepared to give running back Carlos Hyde the reins to the backfield in 2015, although they are hopeful to bring Gore back, which doesn't mean much.
The 49ers are not going to have Hyde (back) for Week 17, so Gore should get plenty of action. The bad news is that he gets a bad matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who are the third-toughest matchup for fantasy running backs. Gore only had one fantasy point in Week 3 against the Cardinals, so it's a bleak outlook for him. Plus, the Cardinals have something to play for as they try to figure out how to score before their playoff run.
Fantasy impact: There won't be much of an upside here, but Gore is a low-end RB2 this week.
