Rangers coach Alain Vigneault will face his former team yet again on Thursday.
Alain Vigneault may have won his 500th game a week ago, but you can be sure he had Thursday circled on his calendar instead.
Vigneault will coach his fourth game against the Vancouver Canucks, his former team, since joining the New York Rangers last season. This game will feel a little different than previous matchups, as both teams are pretty beat up.
Vancouver's blueline is incredibly thin these days. Kevin Bieksa has been out with a hand injury since late January, while Alexander Edler and Christopher Tanev both fell victim to the injury bug against the Flames a few days ago. Factor in Nick Bonino's physical issues and you have a Canucks team starting a road trip battered and bruised.
The Rangers are faring better, though the absence of Henrik Lundqvist still looms large. Cam Talbot has managed just fine in his stead, sporting a 2.51 goals against average.
