On its face, this looks like a nice jersey retirement ceremony:



But upon further analysis... that jersey says BOWIE on it. The player in question is Roosevelt "Bouie." With a U. Kind of a bummer to honor a guy with a jersey that doesn't have his name spelled right.


The good news is, the jersey that went up in the rafters was spelled right:



Hopefully someone gets him a replacement.


Bouie played for Jim Boeheim during the first four years of Boeheim's Syracuse career, helping the coach establish himself with a pair of Sweet 16 runs and a Big East championship. The 6'11 center was a second-round pick of the Mavericks, but chose to pursue a very successful career in Italy. His running mate, Louis Orr, also had his jersey retired in the same ceremony.
