After trading away one veteran forward, the Ottawa Senators made sure to keep another one.
Less than one hour into the free agent signing period and it was already a busy day for the Ottawa Senators.
After trading veteran forward Jason Spezza to the Dallas Stars, the team announced that it had re-signed winger Milan Michalek to a three-year, $12 million contract.
Michalek appeared in all 82 games for the Senators last season, scoring 17 goals to go with 22 assists. He has spent the past five seasons with the Senators after being acquired in the 2009 trade that sent Dany Heatley to San Jose.
