With just two events remaining until the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs, time is running out for Tiger Woods and other players to play their way into the field. Woods will need a very strong finish and it begins on Thursday at Firestone where he's had plenty of success.

With eight career wins on the course, including some of his finest moments, Firestone Country Club has been very kind to Tiger Woods during his career. If he's going to make the FedEx Cup playoffs this year, he may need to tap into that Firestone magic one more time during the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Back surgery kept Woods out for much of the season, leaving him with considerable ground to make up if he's going to qualify for the playoffs. Woods will begin the Bridgestone Invitational No. 215 in the FedEx Cup, needing to make up more than 150 points to break into the top 125. Woods would surge up the standings with the 550 points the comes with a win, but to do that he'll have to be in better form than he has been recently. Woods missed the cut in his first tournament back from surgery and followed it up with a 69th-place finish in the British Open.

The Bridgestone Invitational is unique compared to most tournaments in using twosomes, instead of pairings of three during the first two rounds. Woods will be paired with U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer. The two will play in the afternoon wave on Thursday with their tee time scheduled for 2:20 p.m. ET. The WGC event draws a high-quality field, leading to several notable tee times. Bubba Watson and Adam Scott will form one group while Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler will make up another. Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia will tee off in the morning wave, followed by the duo of Matt Kuchar and Rory McIlroy.

Expanded television coverage will allow viewers to see the afternoon play live while a featured hole steam will provide a glimpse of the morning wave. Golf Channel will begin its coverage at 1:30 p.m., 30 minutes after the afternoon wave begins to tee off. Woods, Watson and other will play the majority or all of their rounds during the television window. PGATour.com will offer a live stream of No. 2 beginning at 9 a.m. It will also include supplemental coverage of Nos. 15 and 18, allowing a three-hole glimpse of the notable names in the morning wave.

Here is a complete look at the first-round tee sheet.
