A highlight reel stop by the Penguins netminder preserved a one-goal lead.

With 31 goals so far this year, St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko has emerged as one of the NHL's premier forwards. His greatest weapon is his quick yet heavy slap shot, and on Saturday night, he got as good of a chance as any to showcase this skill.

But Thomas Greiss was having none of it.

Greiss, appearing in his 14th contest of 2014-15, made a highlight reel stop on a point-blank shot by Tarasenko on Saturday, preventing a defensive mishaps from turning into a costly breakdown.

Listen to how loud Tarasenko's shot echoed as it hit Greiss' pad. That goes in the back of the net almost every time.

Shortly after this stop, Patric Hornqvist scored for the Penguins off a beautiful pass from Sidney Crosby, putting Pittsburgh up 2-0. The Pens have dropped three in a row and, with a victory tonight, can move within one point of Washington in the Metropolitan Division standings.
