There will be eight teams in action on Tuesday in the NHL, headlined by the matchup in St. Louis.

The Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues are both chasing the Chicago Blackhawks in the Central division. One team, however, will have a chance to gain some ground when the Blues and Predators play each other in Nashville. The game will be the highlight of a light Tuesday schedule in the NHL.

The Predators currently sit in second in the Central division with 49 points, three behind Chicago. St. Louis isn't far behind with 47 points. The Blues will face a stiff challenge on Tuesday, however, going against a Predators team that has only lost twice at home this season. Nashville is 13-2-1 at home while St. Louis is just 9-7-2 on the road. The teams have been at a stalemate recently, each going 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

There will be a similar battle for second place in the Pacific division with the San Jose Sharks set to hot the Vancouver Canucks in the late game. The teams are tied for second in the division with 43 points, trailing the Anaheim Ducks. Vancouver has hit a bit of a rough patch recently with just 10 points in its last 10 games. The Sharks have lost two straight games, but are 7-2-1 in their last 10.
