Ezequiel Lavezzi starts in place of the injured Sergio Agüero as Argentina take on an unchanged Switzerland.
There are no real surprises in the lineups for Argentina's World Cup round of 16 clash with Switzerland, though the big news is the Albiceleste's inclusion of Ezequiel Lavezzi in place of the injured Sergio Agüero.
Agüero was substituted in their group stage victory over Nigeria with a tournament-ending muscular tear, and there were doubts over whether Lavezzi or Rodrigo Palacio would replace him. However, coach Alejandro Sabella has opted for the former, in a move that will likely see Lionel Messi start to the right of main striker Gonzalo Higuaín.
Switzerland are unchanged from their victory over Honduras, with Fabian Schär keeping his place at centre-back over Philippe Senderos, and Admir Mehmedi continuing to edge out Valentin Stocker to a spot on the left side of their attack.
Argentina starting lineup (4-3-3): Sergio Romero; Marcos Rojo, Federico Fernández, Ezequiel Garay, Pablo Zabaleta; Ángel di María, Javier Mascherano, Fernando Gago; Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gonzalo Higuaín, Lionel Messi.
Switzerland starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Diego Benaglio; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Fabian Schär, Johan Djourou, Ricardo Rodríguez; Gökhan Inler, Valon Behrami; Admir Mehmedi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Granit Xhaka; Josip Drmić.
