Dan Bailey has looked good kicking long field goals this preseason. We break down the fantasy implications.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey has been doing good work this offseason. On Saturday, Bailey made both of his field goal attempts against the Miami Dolphins, drilling them from 52 and 50 yards out. In the previous game, Bailey made a 53-yard field goal against the Baltimore Ravens, as noted by Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.
Bailey went 2-for-4 from 50-plus yards as a rookie in 2011, 3-of-5 in 2012 and improved to a stellar 6-of-7 last season. That miss was a 56-yard try against the San Diego Chargers. Clearly, the Cowboys are confident in Bailey and what he can do from a distance.
Fantasy Impact: Bailey looking so solid from 50-plus yards in the preseason is a good sign for fantasy owners. You don't hear too much about fantasy kickers and the strategy behind them, but Bailey is as solid an option as any. If you happen to be in a league that awards more points for field goal distance, then Bailey is simply a no-brainer.
