What, the GIANT MURDER BURT REYNOLDS HEAD isn't appealing to kids?

Oklahoma State's Pistol Pete mascot is pretty scary in photos, what with its unshaven-looking, evil-Burt-Reynolds-looking, massive skull. And guns. When you are up close and smaller in stature than Pete's entire head, it's horrible:
