The 55th annual Oral-B USA 500 will be run at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday night, with all eyes on Tony Stewart in his first race since the incident that killed Kevin Ward, Jr. ESPN will provide television coverage for the race, the 25th of 36 races in the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, and the penultimate race before The Chase begins.
Stewart will start the race in Row 6, qualifying in 12th place with a speed of 187.907 mph. Kevin Harvick starts in pole position for the sixth time this season.
ESPN begins pre-race coverage at 7 p.m. ET with host Mike Massaro and analysts Brad Daugherty and Rusty Wallace on "NASCAR Countdown."
Race coverage starts at 7:30 p.m., with the green flag expected at roughly 7:46 p.m. ESPN will have Allen Bestwick, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree in the booth, with Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Jim Noble and Vince Welch reporting from the pit.
In addition, Kasey Kahne -- currently 13th in points and trying to move up three spots to qualify for The Chase -- will be ESPN's in-race reporter, speaking from his car with Jarrett during pace laps and caution periods.
The race will also air live in Canada on TSN4, TSN5 and TSN6, and will be available online via Watch ESPN. The race is scheduled for re-air at 1 a.m. on Mon., Sep. 2 on ESPN2.
