The Ravens head coach spoke to the issue of his star running back getting a two-game suspension from the NFL with a dad-like lesson about consequences.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh responded to the news that his star running back Ray Rice would be suspended for the first two games of the season for assaulting his fiancee in February incident at an Atlantic City casino. Harbaugh put on his stern dad face and muttered something about consequences.

"He makes a mistake, alright? He's going to have to pay a consequence. I think that's good for kids to understand it works that way. That's how it works, that's how it should be."

Rice got a two-game suspension and will forfeit a third paycheck for his domestic violence incident. He was caught on video dragging an unconscious Janay Rice out of an elevator by her hair.

The Ravens tried to make it all better with a staged press conference featuring apologies from Rice AND his wife, who was his fiancee at the time of the incident.

The decision to put Rice on the shelf for only two games is being widely panned by the public in light of a very severe looking video. Of course, there's more to the incident than what was caught on tape, but what was caught on tape was very ugly. Man felt the NFL should take a stronger stand in the face of domestic violence, rather than using a two-game suspension and host of redemption narratives on the Ravens website for Rice.
