Pirates commit some of the worse baserunning ever

What are you doing, Pirates? PIRATES, STAHP.

Ruben Rivera has long been considered the practitioner of the worst baserunning in the history of the game. And that's probably still true. But what just happened to the Pirates was up there. And in some ways, much, much worse.

Allow me to set the scene. On Wednesday afternoon, with Gaby Sanchez on third and Travis Snider on second base, with one out, Chris Stewart walked to load the bases ... but then Snider took a lead off second base as pitcher Jean Machi received the ball.

What happened next ... well, there's an acronym called TOOTBLAN, which stands for "Thrown Out On The Basepaths Like A Nincompoop." That pretty much sums it up.

TOOTBLAN. Baserunning so bad it requires two Vines.
