It'll be at least one more season before Everton's crowned jewel takes his talents elsewhere.

Ross Barkley is one of the hottest properties in English football, and he won't be going anywhere this summer. Everton have announced that Barkley has signed a new four-year contract, effectively ending any speculation about his immediate future. He'll be an Everton player this season, and their fans will be hoping he sticks around much longer than that.

Under new manager Roberto Martinez, Barkley became first choice in the 2013-14 season, scoring six goals in 34 games for the Toffees. His breakthrough with Everton led to him becoming an England national team regular, and he made the trip to the World Cup with the Three Lions. He's earned nine senior England caps so far in his career.

The 20-year-old starlet has become the centerpiece of Martinez's Everton side, and his development was arguably the key factor in them making a step up to seriously challenge the Premier League's six richest clubs last season. They ultimately finished in fifth place, just seven points back of a Champions League spot.

Barkley has previously been linked to all of the biggest clubs in England, and most strongly to Chelsea, with a potential price cited north of £30m. With Barkley signing a new contract, he won't be available for at least another season, and the price of a potential future transfer is only going to go up if he has another solid campaign.
