We start and end with strong guard play tonight, as C.J. McCollum and Dennis Schroder start off the night, and Trey Burke, Dante Exum and Garry Harris follow.

Though we don't have any high-profile duels like Andrew Wiggins vs. Jabari Parker or Wiggins vs. Nerlens Noel, we do have plenty of intriguing contests to watch from Las Vegas as young players try to improve further or excel well enough to help convince teams they deserve to be kept around through training camp, or even further.

Trail Blazers vs Hawks, 4 p.m. - live on NBATV

Players to watch: Portland's first-round pick from last year, C.J. McCollum, has some serious talent and scoring ability to go with his handle, and they're trying to find some more encouraging development from No. 5 overall pick Thomas Robertson from the forward spot. For Atlanta, Dennis Schroder bounced back from his 8-point first game in a big way, scoring 30 points in a double-overtime game against the D-League All-Stars.

Bulls vs Timberwolves, 4:30 p.m.

Players to watch: Tony Snell and Doug McDermott are finding their groove offensively in Summer League, combining for 54 points. It'll be tough for Alexey Shved, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad, or Glenn Robinson to slow them down, with Snell's experience and talent, and McDermott's shooting prowess. Muhammad's own progress will be intriguing to watch, too.

Clippers vs Rockets, 6 p.m. - live on NBATV

Players to watch: For the Clippers, I'm most intrigued by veteran Delonte West, who hasn't played in the NBA since the 2011-12 season. As for the Rockets, Donatas Motiejunas has been playing well, as has guard Nick Johnson, who's been dishing dimes and scoring at a good clip.

Heat vs Wizards, 6:30 p.m. live on ESPN3

Players to watch: Former first-round pick Jordan Hamilton is desperately searching to find a landing spot in the NBA after becoming an unrestricted free agent, and has been scoring really well for Miami, with some fine jump shooting. This year's first-round pick, Shabazz Napier, has been inconsistent, but Miami's found some good success from James Ennis as a red-hot shooter and scorer. Washington still has last year's third overall pick in Otto Porter, who's looked a lot more comfortable so far. And Glen Rice, Jr. has been active offensively drawing fouls and getting his offense going from inside and out.

76ers vs Suns, 8 p.m. - live on NBATV

Players to watch: If the 76ers give the OK for Nerlens Noel to play a back-to-back, he is of course the player to watch. His defensive playmaking ability, agility and athleticism are immensely fun to watch in Summer League. Because his health remains a concern, he might not play two nights in a row. If he doesn't, keep an eye on Jordan McRae. The Suns' backcourt should be fun, too, with T.J. Warren starting and Seth Curry (yes, of the famous Curry family) coming off the bench.

Jazz vs Nuggets, 8:30 p.m. - live on ESPN3

Players to watch: Utah is loaded with interesting young talent: Trey Burke, Dante Exum, Rodney Hood, Malcolm Thomas and Rudy Gobert make up their starting five, which is enough to intrigue big-time fans of the NBA. Gary Harris should be the player to watch here as his first game was an impressive 33-point performance showcasing his shooting skills and ability to get to the free-throw line. However, he followed it up with making just 1 of 12 against the Bulls, so he'll be looking to leave that kind of game behind him.
