Storming the pitch to run around like a jackass is so 2013. In 2014, pitch invaders need a purpose. They need a social purpose. And that purpose is a selfie.
So when one enterprising Bayern Munich fan climbed down a wall and took off in a full sprint for the field during a friendly, he made a beeline for Javi Martinez. And when he got there, he pulled out his phone, got Martinez to lean in a bit and snap, a selfie.
This is the modern era pitch invader. So social.
