Tony Gallopin won his first Tour de France stage.
The Tour de France was back in action on Wednesday for Stage 11 after a rest day on Tuesday. Tony Gallopin, who wore the yellow jersey on Bastille Day, scored his first Tour de France stage win, holding off a pack of challengers.
Gallopin attacked on the climbs at the end of the stage, and although he was caught by a number of other riders, he was able to give a few last pushes at the end of the stage to win it.
Vincenzo Nibali kept the overall lead as the Tour heads into Stage 12, a 185-kilometer trek from Bourg-en-Bresse to Saint-Etienne.
