El Paso's 1977 Sun Bowl, in which Stanford beat LSU, 24-14, will be remembered as the most machismo-oozing bowl game of all time.
The 1977 Sun Bowl was called by Pat Summerall AND BURT REYNOLDS WHAT http://ift.tt/100LWKP

Why was Burt Reynolds, the actor known for being in all the good movies and none of the bad ones, helping CBS call the Sun Bowl?
First of all, we're talking about Burt Reynolds, roommate and teammate of ESPN college football personality Lee Corso at Florida State in the 1950s, so we're talking about one of the most qualified football commentators ever. And secondly, we're talking about Burt Reynolds, who does as he pleases. (Also, he had movies coming out every nine minutes or so at the time.)
You cannot get these insights from any other actor, folks:
Actual dialogue Pat: ..Wind blowing left to right Burt: On it’s way to Juarez, right? Pat: Blew us over there a couple of times..
