Two sacrifice flies put the Giants on top early.

The Giants took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning of Game 7 of the World Series. A hit by pitch got things rolling for San Francisco, followed by back-to-back singles from Hunter Pence and Brandon Belt. With Pablo Sandoval the first batter on, it was station-to-station baseball.

Fortunately for the Giants, Mike Morse and Brandon Crawford each added sacrifice flies before Juan Perez ended the inning with a strikeout. Both teams were likely satisfied with the result, as the Giants grabbed the lead and the Royals escaped a bases loaded, no out jam with only two runs in.

These pandas, including Sandoval, were quite happy.

It remains to be seen if Guthrie will go any further in the game, as Royals Manager Ned Yost made it clear that he would be quick to go to his bullpen before the game. He might feel compelled to let Guthrie start a third inning before replacing him, though, as he will be wary of overextending his bullpen.
