Thomas won't play on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.
New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas will not play against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. He has been dealing with a shoulder injury and is expected to miss another week.
Thomas suffered the shoulder injury in Week 7, but the Saints haven't missed him much with their offense putting up some nice production, especially in last week's win over the Green Bay Packers.
With running back Mark Ingram's return, Thomas wouldn't have been used in the ground attack much anyway. Additionally, running back Travaris Cadet chipped in for the passing attack, catching three passes for 40 yards against the Packers last week. The Panthers are vulnerable against the pass and Cadet could have a chance to catch up to five passes with Khiry Robinson now also out due to a nagging injury.
Fantasy impact: Thomas is more of a stash in PPR leagues, but he should be back in the RB2 mix in those formats. Cadet is a very risky RB4 in PPR formats.
