Dan Herron is rolling and needs to be picked up, but he's not the only one with an increase in fantasy football value. Check out some guys who can help you make a run in the playoffs.

It's the fantasy football playoffs for most of you. That means it is time for your yearly reminder to not get too cute with your lineup. I'll be the first to admit I love the feeling of playing a sleeper and having him bust out for a big game. It's one of the main reasons why I love fantasy football.

You can't do it in the playoffs, though. If you know your move is against the grain, it's probably best to just play it safe. The only time I would consider being bold is if you're going up against a juggernaut. In other words, that team is projected to beat you by like 40-plus points. In that case, you need to take chances.

As for these waiver pickups, only the top option this week is someone I would roll out into my starting lineup at this juncture. That could change, though. Here they are:

Dan Herron, Indianapolis Colts (owned in 47 percent of leagues) -- Despite some fumbling issues, Herron is locked and loaded as the starter for one of the best offenses in the NFL. That means he should not be on a single waiver wire. After you pick him up, he gets a matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14. It's a great matchup, as the Browns defense has slowed down due to all the injuries. Herron should be viewed as a top-20 back this week and offers huge upside as long as doesn't put the ball on the turf.

Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (owned in 45 percent of leagues) -- He got back in the mix on Sunday with 18 carries for 58 yards and one score while adding a catch against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bucs seem to be cooling on Charles Sims, and obviously Bobby Rainey isn't the answer, so Martin might be the main option. Fantasy owners can look grab Martin, but he's not going to be an option this week against a stout Detroit Lions run defense. They do get a better matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15, so Martin is worth a stash. If he doesn't fall on his face, he could be an RB2.

Roy Helu Jr., Washington (owned in 12 percent of leagues) -- Washington is going to change its system and it would appear Helu is going to benefit. Quarterback Colt McCoy loves to check it down and that explains why Helu put up 61 receiving yards and one score in Week 13. Of course, only getting four targets isn't going to help his case as a strong pickup, but there should be more on the way. Plus, receiver DeSean Jackson going down should spread a lot of targets around. The Rams are getting better at stopping the run, so look for a lot of Helu in the passing game in Week 14. Like Martin, you're still probably not going to want to use him as anything but a desperation flex. Maybe he gets hot, though.

Andre Williams, New York Giants (owned in 40 percent of leagues) -- Rashad Jennings suffered an ankle injury, but he did say that he's not concerned about it. This isn't the first time a player has dismissed an injury, and many times they wind up missing games because they didn't see the swelling going. Williams is a speculative add because the Giants get a great matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14.

Michael Bush, Stepfan Taylor and Marion Grice, Arizona Cardinals (all owned in 1 percent of leagues) -- Andre Ellington is going to miss some time. The problem is that the Cardinals can't move the ball down the field. They could only score one offensive touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons last week. one of the worst defenses in football. If you wanted to make an add, it's probably Grice. Again, you have to be very, very desperate to use any of these guys.
