The Lighting will attempt to keep racking up points, traveling to New York to face the Rangers.
Following a recent surge -- and some struggles from Montreal -- the Tampa Bay Lightning enter their game on Monday tied atop the Atlantic division with 34 points. In order to stay there, however, they will have to do something they haven't been great at this season, earn points on the road. Tampa Bay has been much better at home this season, but will be in New York on Monday, taking on the Rangers.
Tampa Bay has earned 21 of its 34 points at home, with a 6-4-1 record on the road. The Lightning have won three straight, including a 4-3 win against the Rangers last week - but all three games came at home. Tampa Bay's top-ranked offense hasn't been quite as good on the road. It will be challenged by a Rangers team that is 8-4-3 at home and in the thick of the race in the Metropolitan division. The game will be in the spotlight on Monday, with the puck scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. on NHL Network.
The Rangers and Lightning may draw the attention early, but eight other teams will be in action. The Panthers and Blue Jackets will also matchup at 7 p.m. with three games scheduled for later in the night. The headline matchup of the late games will come in Anaheim where the Ducks will host the Boston Bruins. It's the only matchup of the night of teams with at least 29 points. The Ducks haven't played their best hockey recently and come in off back-to-back losses. The game will air for a national audience in Canada on Sportsnet One.
