Detroit's young center is following in his father's footsteps.
With a number of starters sidelined for the regular season finale in Carolina, Detroit Red Wings forward Landon Ferraro picked up the slack by potting his first career NHL goal -- doing so by beating Hurricanes netminder Cam Ward with a backhand wraparound chance.
Ferraro, 23, is the son of former NHLer Ray Ferraro, who is quite proud of his boy.
just landed in Toronto to a boatload of texts on Landon's 1st NHL goal - haven't even seen it yet ... Tears poured to my eyes #amazing
