Vladislav Namestnikov injured by illegal check to the head

The rookie center left Saturday's game in the opening period.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vladislav Namestnikov left Saturday's game against Boston after receiving an illegal check to the head from Adam McQuaid. The 22-year-old Russian needed to be helped off the ice and was promptly taken to Tampa's dressing room.

That's a rough hit, but it doesn't appear as if McQuaid, who received a two-minute minor, targeted the head. Namestnikov's left knee may have been damaged, as well.
