Colorado avalanche are going hard after Iginla.
— Josh Rimer (@JoshRimerHockey) July 1, 2014
After spending his entire career in Calgary and a brief 13 game stint in Pittsburgh, Iginla landed in Boston last season, keeping up his regular scoring output and tallying 30 goals. Iginla was reportedly seeking a two-year deal, and with the Bruins already sniffing the cap ceiling, other suitors were expected to enter the fold in pursuit of the 560 career goal-scorer.
Colorado has already been busy this offseason, after acquiring Daniel Briere yesterday in exchange for P.A. Parenteau and a fifth round draft pick. The biggest item on the docket for the Avalanche is re-signing unrestricted free agent Paul Stastny, who's set to test the market at noon.
