The United States are underdogs against Belgium but picked by Odds Shark to win. Argentina is also favored to advance over the Swiss.

The United States will take the pitch as 5-2 moneyline underdogs on Tuesday in their round of 16 match against Belgium.

The Americans will be looking for their first win over Belgium since the group stage of the 1930 World Cup. Since then, Belgium has recorded four wins over the United States, including three clean sheets, most recently posting a 4-2 win in a 2013 friendly.

Belgium has returned with a vengeance to World Cup action after failing to qualify in 2006 and 2010. The Red Devils entered the tournament as -175 favorites in World Cup group betting and didn't disappoint, winning all three of their group stage matches while recording two clean sheets.

However, the Belgians' fine play has not been rewarded by oddsmakers, who place Belgium in the middle of the pack in futures betting to win the tournament with World Cup odds of 20-1.

The Belgians do remain strong favorites against the United States on Tuesday, with odds of 20-37 to advance to the quarterfinal for just the second time in the nation's history.

In Tuesday's other World Cup round of 16 match, Argentina are heavy 1-5 favorites to advance in their match against Switzerland. The Argentines finished the group stage atop Group F with three wins.

However, none of them came as easy as expected for a squad that has odds of 4-1 to win their third World Cup title. Indeed, Argentina needed all the offense they could muster to hold off a tough Nigeria squad and clinch first place with a 3-2 victory in their group stage finale.

After entering the tournament as the No.6-ranked squad in the world according to FIFA's rankings, and a solid 5-2 bet to win Group E, Switzerland struggled in the group stage, requiring a late goal to get past Ecuador in their opening match before getting thumped 5-2 by France.

However, the Swiss finished strong with a 3-0 win over Honduras.

Despite their solid performance to close out the group stage, Switzerland remain longshots, with odds of 13-4 to reach the quarterfinals, and a distant 100-1 in World Cup futures wagering.

A line to watch in this battle of offense-oriented squads is the TOTAL, which sits at 2.5. Not surprisingly, the OVER is strongly favored with a moneyline of 5-7 while the UNDER sits at 23-20.
